This museum was recommended to us by some locals and we're so glad we followed their advice. We especially liked to Roman exhibits. On the top floor you can go out onto a viewing deck where you can take nice photos of Carlisle Castle just across the road. I would consider this a "must see" attraction during a stay in... More

This is a must see on any first time visit to the area. The Roman exhibit and the Reiver exhibits were great!

I recently visited the Tullie House Museum restaurant. Tracey and the rest of the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We were extremely impressed with the food especially the cakes. The chocolate brownie was out of this world. My husband had the Bakewell tart which was equally as nice! The atmosphere was very relaxed. The sun on the patio area... More

I used to visit the tullie house cafe at least twice a month with my friends and their toddlers- however since the cafe has been re designed recently it has gone downhill. There is not much choice available. There is always a massive slow queue to order. Food is expensive for what you get. £3.50 for a bacon buttie!!! They... More

The museum is informative and the roman museum in the basement is very interactive so great for kids. Lots to see of interest. Nice garden too. There was a very good exhibition about the roman cavalry stationed nearby on when we visited too. Well priced too

I went here after being recommended by a friend that it was good if you had small children. We got a table no problem with a high chair but the food service seemed disorganised, there was no one on the hot food counter, and the poor woman on the till was having to organise everything, and then it did seem... After seeing an advertisement on their Facebook page for 'free' easter events I came with my wife and 2 young children for a not so great day out. On arrival I went to the desk and enquired about the easter trail. I was asked if I lived in Carlisle and if not it would be. £7.50 admission? This made no... More

Great Roman artefact exhibition we enjoyed it as adults but kids would love it also as there are lots of interactive parts to keep them interested, don't forget to do the original Tullie House the Arts and Crafts exhibits are well worth a look.
