We visited Dunham Massey's National Trust site recently... it is located near the Altrincham/Lymm area of Manchester... This GradeI listed building has been owned by the National Trust since the death of the Earl of Stamford in 1976... it was also a military hospital during WW1... As well as a wonderful house and gardens (which include the largest winter garden... More

We visited on a busy sunny Saturday and were immediately impressed by the fact that there was still adequate car parking. The visitor centre was bright and spacious and the staff were informative and welcoming. We arrived at lunchtime, but the snack restaurant, though busy, was well able to cope and we had no problem getting a seat. Staff were... More

We arrived and had a wander around the house which took about 1.5 hrs. When we emerged a lovely lady called Joan was doing a gentle walking tour of the grounds which was smashing. Whilst taking us on a leisurely stroll she told us a little of the history and all about the wildlife, the deer are quite unperturbed by... More

I paid £30 for my partner and I to enter, plus the £6 parking and an additional £1.75 for a bottle of water. The deer park was the highlight of the visit, which is disappointing as I've since learned I could have visited here for free. The house may be of interest to people who enjoy looking at old buildings... More

We didnt visit the hall & gardens but enjoyed the walk around dunham massey, seeing deer etc. There is a cafe, plenty of car park spaces and gift shop.

We absolutely loved this place, despite the bad weather. Beautiful kept gardens, perfect for a stroll with your loved one. It's great to see the deer walking around freely, not really bothered about the visitors.

I visited this National Trust property with my husband on a very warm and sunny Saturday afternoon and it was extremely busy. However, there was plenty of car parking space and lots of people seemed to be visiting just to have picnics or to stroll or play with their children in the extensive parkland. (A ticket is needed for entry... More

We've been NT members for over 15 years. Dunham Massey wasn't great today. The motorway service style new entrance is awful and out of keeping with this beautiful home and deer park. Only 3 ladies toilets working and they were filthy. No toilet roll and clearly hasn't been checked for hours. Stench from the nappy bin could be smelt outside... More

We signed up to the membership on Friday , so thought we would visit for the Easter egg hunt, it was great fun even in the rain, all the staff were very present.
