You can only appreciate the Grandeur of this Building if you view it from the beach below. We dropped into the Cafe/Bar behind the open-air Band-Stand for Coffee when the recent Yorkshire Beard Festival was on. The Contestants were still arriving at the time and the audience hadn't fully assembled, but a number of rather eccentric musical acts performed while... More

We happened to be passing the Spa as the Yorkshire Beard Festival started. It was a nice quirky event and a perfect setting for it in the open air. We could have bought false beards - but didn't! It was a pity that there were not more things happening at the beginning f the event but we did enjoy the... More

Love this place but biased as born in Scarborough. If there is a band playing you're in for a double treat while having a snack at the cafe overlooking the bandstand.

Very atmospheric. You can imagine the Edwardians taking the sea air, gazing out to the aea and partaking of the Spa waters to cleanse their bodies and soul. A beautiful and slightly quaint place.

After a long journey from the South to Scarborough, it was lovely to walk along the front and dashing through the wave splash to sit down and have a lovely lunch at the Spa.

The meals that we have had in the Ocean room have been brilliant hot plates hot food served efficiently and not fancy sauces just plain food like you would cook at home. The staff are very helpful and l would go as far as to say that after many mass catered meals over the Xmas period this was by far the... Went to see Madame Butterfly last night, what a superb opera. The orchestra were perfect,as were the cast..Beautiful bitter-sweet story, sang in Italian with a screen for subtitles. It was so well performed it was possible to work out the intricate windings of the story. what a perfect end to the weekend.

Went to the S.H.A dinner dance on Saturday. I was told the Ocean Room was a cold place, far from it, it was nice and warm. Food was OK, a little bland, service as very good with nice hot plates, I did think that water should have been provided on the tables. Entertainment was good. A great venue for functions.

Went to see Billy Pearce in his laughter show at the Spar, it was brilliant a really good family show. He only had 4 assistants but they were all first class. Not overly attended but that didn't stop him performing, really professional. The theatre is a little tired and could do with a revamp, but the bar area has been... More

Been there scores of times, from the days of Max Jaffa onwards. You used to be able to buy tea/coffee and take them up onto the roof. The Spa theatre used to have a resident coemedian called Frankie Desmond and the Ocean Room used to have wrestling. Seen Doctor Death and Big Daddy there. Been to several excellent conferences over... More
