Just been to see a performance of 'The Weir' at this lovely theatre. Easy to find, great use of our beautiful Yorkshire architecture, friendly staff. Haven't been here for a while but so glad I decided to come to this fabulous production. The whole performance...More

This is a great facility with a good main auditorium and other performing space. We recently visited the Cellar, an intimate performing space to see an Aykbourn play by the local amateur group - Dick and Lottie. A great performance, amusing and gripping to the...More

Not too big, not too small - just the right size. I think you would have a good view of the stage no matter where you sat in this lovely theatre. It was our first visit to see the Northern Broadside theatre group, and we...More

The Lawrence Batley Theatre is a fairly small theatre for a town the size of Huddersfield but it is welcoming and I think most of the ushers are volunteers. There is a small bar area. I must admit I prefer the cosier and cheaper Halifax...More

A great local resource with a range of auditoria and good hospitality and circulation areas. The programme is varied and supports both professional and amateur performances. Recently saw excellent Dick and Lottie performance of Sisterly Feelings

This place is an absolutely excellent theatre as it isn't too big so feels quite cosy and intimate, everywhere (including the toilets) was spotlessly clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful at all times, we went to see a bit of Gilbert and...More

Lovely theatre, not the best I've been to, but I actually like that it's quite small and not huge like some I've been to.

We love this theatre - we've been to several shows and the pantomimes are excellent. Lots of people don't seem to realise where it is but it's a gem! Well worth a visit if you're in Huddersfield!

I've lived in Huddersfield for years, but up until yesterday, I had never set foot in this lovely theatre. We attended a performance of Billy Liar by Huddersfield Thespians. It was in the cellar theatre. The setting was very relaxed, and just the right size....More

The LBT, built in 1819 as a Methodist chapel, was converted into a theatre in the 1990s. The alteration was done really well, with good sight lines and comfortable seats throughout the house. It has a varied programme and is a pleasure to visit.
