The lead lift was out of action so if you wanted to get down to the sea front you had to use stairs which didn't have handles we didn't go down as l have sciatica

It needs a really good tidy up. More than a coat of paint. I looks that bad ,I'm not sure if some people would use it. Just how safe is it. A great shame.

This was a fabulous Victorian water lift a part of Folkestone's history. A real loss and a shame it has had to be shut due to lack of funds to repair and maintain it. Future visitors to Folkestone won't get a change to experience this...More

A great experience. A bit awkward if in a wheelchair, will need a bit of assistance, which the operators are willing and able to give, with out being asked, for which we were grateful.

We have visited and ridden on the Leas Lift many times, went the Leas today to find this attraction has now been closed done. While you cannot ride anymore, if you are around the Leas area you can still go and have a look. I...More

Built in 1885. It's closed I understand because the Health and Safety executive reckons it has to have £3 million spent on it. Not surprisingly that's a bit of a problem. If interested there is more on line.

Wanted to try the lift so we could go on the beach but it was all.locked off. Nice views from top though

Never seen one of these before!! A must see, I had to waste two hours before a meeting and this along with an amazing lunch in town done the trick!
