Dinosaur Expeditions C.I.C. is a Community Interest Company created by local fossil enthusiasts. We promote responsible fossil discovery and conservation in addition to helping the public understanding of fossils and the palaeo-environment through Palaeoart. To do this we have established the 'Dinosaur Expeditions, Conservation and Palaeoart Centre' at the site of the Dinosaur Farm Museum. It houses displays of fossils, locally produced palaeoart, childrens' activities and a fossil & mineral giftshop. We also organise popular fossil hunting trips throughout the year at a variety of locations on the Isle of Wight, led by our experienced professional guides. Dinosaur Expeditions CIC pools the local knowledge, talents and experience of our Fossil Hunt leaders. This helps to ensure that we can provide a professional quality experience for all our customers. Are you mad about Dinosaurs and other fossils? We are, so why not join us on an amazing Fossil Hunting Adventure! Discover your own fossils and keep all your finds.

We recently came to the museum and did fossil hunting. We throught the museum was well laid out and that you could look around without having any 'this way'. they had 3 rooms in the barn and things for the kids to do. The staff were very happy and enthusiastic and were happy to talk to us about the different... More

Both my four year old and nine year old were engaged for two hours in this activity. We were met in the car park by our guide and were taken along the beach for about half a mile looking for fossils and dinosaur bones after having been told what to look for. Highlight for my son was standing on a... More

Massively enthusiastic staff. Drop in to the centre and they will get you all set up to go fossil hunting on your own or join their beach trip.

Just returned from a fab fossil hunt! We met the enthusiastic and knowledgable Megan who took our group through a few hundred million years of history along the Isle of Wight south coast. We met in a car park (keep an eye out for the turning) and then were shown the kinds of fossils more likely to be found on... More

The enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable staff, who all clearly work in the field, are a huge credit to this place. The museum is not massive but my children loved sifting through the gravel to find actual fossils, which they could keep, and really enjoyed identifying them on the charts.

His knowledge of the fossils to be found is excellent and he is more than happy to talk through your finds... More

This place belongs in the category of museums with interest out of all proportion to the entrance fee. It caters for all ages and the staff were very knowledgeable about their subject and were most helpful. It taught me things that I did not know about dinosaurs, the law and southern England's geology.

It is a few years since we were here last, when it was still run by the farm owners. Still as interesting. More so in fact. The guide was so enthusiastic. It was infectious. I look forward to returning in future years. We were just sorry to miss out on their fossil hunts - time was against us. Keep up... More

I was so glad we paid this place a visit - definitely a must see on the isle of wight. The staff who work here are so friendly, knowledgeable and willing to talk about all things dinosaur, evolution and natural history. The exhibits were fascinating, and we found out lots about what we could find on the beaches of the... More
