I have visited a few caves and enjoyed the tours, but this was one of the best. Our very enthusiastic guide started by showing us an archaeological dig (so we learned some of the history of the people who used the caves), explained the science of the features, gave more history regarding the cave as a tourist attraction and generally... In Buxton rather than Castleton. Really enjoyed the tour. Laid back attitude of the guide was refreshing and informative. Great fun. Wrap up warm and watch the water drips. Great Café. Do the walk after to Solomons Temple

Not as well known as some of the other Derbyshire show caves but in my view one of the best. Particularly liked the ease of access with ramps and gentle steps. Guide was very enthusiastic . Great cafe for afterwards .

Even at about £10 per headthe cavern is worth a visit just to see the stalagmites. Our visit was even better than we had anticipated thanks to our effervescent guide Alex, who made the whole thing come to life. Definitely worth a look.

Great visit, very informative, our guide was great. Enjoyed the tour, was very interesting. Had a lovely drink in the cafe and as the latte machine was being cleaned the lady gave me a piece of cake for free!

Visited yesterday; the guide was extremely knowledgeable. Would highly recommend a visit. Wear a water poof coat since by the nature of limestone caverns water does drip from the ceilings of the caves. Also the temperature within the caves is 7 degrees celsius whether it is hot or cold outdoors.

This is a 'must see' if you visit Buxton. The tour guides were so charming and well informed about the history and geology of these amazing caves. To top it all the tea rooms served the most delicious homemade food and cakes.
