Visited Upton House to see the Banking in Victory Wartime Christmas. this is an excellent representation of the period, it was great to hear so many people talking of their own experiences as they went around. Handmade decorations, even little Christmas trees made from Goose feathers. The record breaking bunting is on show everywhere. It was a wet afternoon outside... More

Enjoyed visit very much. Staff very helpful as my friend couldn't manage all the stairs so provided a chair for her whilst I looked around. They chatted to her about the house etc so she didnt miss out. I wasn't expecting to see the large amount of paintings. Lovely surprise. Wonderful wartime exhibition. Amazing bunting.

The NT Christmas Fair at Upton House over the first weekend in December followed a WW2 theme. The weather this year was much calmer although cold which made it feel more festive. This proved to be a very popular event. There were loads of great stalls all selling really nice and unusual gifts and craft items. As NT members, we... More

We are National Trust members & have been here before but today we thought we would revist it & enjoy the Christmas Fair. There were not quite as many stalls as I expected but still very good. What i hadn't expected was that there was a WWII theme & many of the stall holders and people in the house were... More

Upton house is steeped in history, its a huge attraction in this area we visited on a vintage Porsche weekend and also saw the house, I believe that there is a Victorian Christmas theme on at the moment and we intend to go and take a look

One of the best exhibitions around the history of a National Trust property I've ever seen. Utterly fascinating. Loved that you were allowed to handle so many of the artefacts. All the supporting info totally in theme. First class!

My wife and I called here on our way back from a 65th birthday celebration in Oxford. We were pleasantly surprised to find the exhibition about Upton House during WWII. It was very interesting and well presented. It is a few years since we last visited and we look forward to returning and spending more time here.

Visited today. Very informative staff. Advertising Britain at war. Plenty of information regarding the family during the war. Gardens pleasant to walk around even in late autumn. Cafe lovely

What is notable about Upton House is that you can touch the exhibits in most of the rooms - except the stunning range of paintings, naturally. The art collection is amazing. The rooms were all set up with a wartime theme when we visited. There is a courtyard too, with icecreams and plants on sale, as well as a gift... More

This is a lovely day out. The house has an interesting history, and the art collection on the lower floor is small but beautiful. The real wow though is the garden. At first sight it seems just a lawn rolling down a hill, but reach the edge of the hill & get a surprise!
