I visited Upton five years ago and was very impressed. It had some interesting furniture and interiors, a wonderful art collection and attractive gardens. Visiting again last week, it was disappointing. In an attempt to ring the changes, a lot of the furniture had been...More

The gardens are lovely, even on the rainy day we were there. There is a herbaceous border, and a lovely streamside wooded garden, which was my favourite. The staff were very friendly but unfortunately, the house didn't open until 1.00 and the video story of...More

What a great place, steeped in history with a great- albeit very hilly drop to the lower gardens. My children were 7 and 9 and we took the badminton rackets and played and pic nicked and just relaxed😃 wonderful place and the house is super...More

Great for a day out with the family, stunning views and beautiful grounds. Check out some of the displays and events they have on as they are usually very good. One on the NT places to visit.

The house is very interesting, and the volunteers very friendly and knowledgeable. Downside - it was raining heavily. Bob is waiting for a knee replacement, and walks with a stick. The car park is around 300 yards from the house, but they did not tell...More

This was our second visit to Upton - the last time the house was presented with a WW2 theme ; this time the idea is that you might be a prospective buyer in years gone by and so some of the rooms prompt you to...More

We visited on a Sunday and rubbed shoulders with Porsche GB who had a large meet here. The consequence was a swarm of people moving around the house making study of its artefacts virtually impossible . I know the Trust needs money to assist in...More

We went to Upton Hall with some friends. It is a National Trust establishment. We had an interesting introduction from one of the guides in the entrance hallway and were then left free to visit the rest of the house. The guides, as always in...More

My idea would be to ring Upton and find out what they suggest. The staff are so helpful - they may be able to help you plan your visit so that you can use the restaurant. The food at Upton is excellent and caters for all. If... More

Upton is only open on the Friday, the 25th. The house opens at 1pm by timed entry (you can pre-book tickets online) but the gardens, restaurant and shop open at 11am.
