Fantastic house, something to interest people of all ages. We took our 18 year old Grandson, he enjoyed it as much as us. The grounds are pleasant to walk round, the restaurant served lovely food but could do with being bigger.

Interesting both architecturally and in terms of family history and interior design eclectic mix of arts and crafts and Art Deco. Went on a very wet and dull day but still found lots to interest us for 2 plus hours in the house alone.

Local to me, and my wife and I pop in regularly. Small gardens, not much to see in winter but still a great place to take in the atmosphere, we never tire of it.

A nice victorian family home, rich industrialists home, interesting place with informative volunteers in the various rooms. The gardens are nice to walk around and have a picnic in. A nice day was had by all, including teenage boy

A beautiful house filled with beautiful things. There was so many rooms to explore with well informed , friendly guides to assist you. Love the history around this house and one of the few national trust houses you can imagine yourself living in. Good tea room but could do with being less "cafeish". Great place to visit. I have been many times with young children and now they are older.

This place is great for lovers of historic buildings and interiors. My kids loved the indoor craft activities and outdoor treasure hunts. The staff are very friendly and excellent at explaining things to young children. The food in the cafe (especially the ploughmans lunch) is worth a visit on its own, its delicious. This place is set in lovely gardens,... More
