Loved it. A wonderful oasis of pubby calm. Excellent beer, friendly knowledgable staff, a decent crowd. If they did food it'd be perfect. This is how pubs should be.

That is lovely to hear. We don't do food, but customers are welcome to bring their own and we will supply cutlery, crockery etc.

On my occasional visits to Wolverhampton I always visit this pub. As a real ale drinker to choice of ales is extensive and usually in tip-top condition. Food is basic filled rolls etc. but it's the ale that counts. Can get very busy especially if...More

A gem of a place with great real ales and a wonderful friendly atmosphere. We always head for here before and after going for a meal in town. Very reasonable prices too!

Very good hostelry with excellent landlord and bar team. Three Black Country Ales, the owners, beers are always on, plus a further six changing on cask. There's also a real cider on hand pump. All the beers our party tried were perfectly kept. Does cobs...More

It's a beer shop, pure and simple. About 10 real ale pulls (plus gassy rubbish) of all calibres. Bar staff try to please (and succeed) but gaffers should be less restrained (i.e. they gravitate towards regulars). Canned music, albeit soto voce, tends to irritate: ambience...More

The craft beers hold their own in the midst of the other pubs in the area, as well as bottles from Belgium (Kwak is a fav). This historic pub has a nice beer garden a nice atmosphere and is well worth the visit.

There are always a good range of guest beers available, where you can always ask for a taster if you are unsure. It does get busy on match days but don't let that put you off, as service is always brisk
