Knutsford Heritage Centre is the best way to discover Knutsford and Elizabeth Gaskell’s Cranford. Changing exhibitions tell the story of Knutsford and its people. Official Walking Tours of Knutsford run every Friday afternoon (at 2pm from May-October. The Centre also houses the famous Knutsford Tapestry, measuring 52 metres it took 4 years to complete and involved 3,000 people in the stitching. It captures the architecture and every day life of Knutsford in the year 2000.

Make some time to stop at this wonderful and very friendly visitor center. Incredible Knutsford Tapestry stitched by numerous Knutsford residents. Volunteers gave a most informative history and there is a gift shop with unusual gifts. Well worth 30 minutes of your time.More

I only visited the centre because it was recommended to me.I am so glad I did. The staff in the centre (all volunteers) are very friendly and chatty. The Millennium Tapestry is well worth seeing. The detail within it is amazing. Definitely worth a second...More

There were some interesting displays, especially the fabulous millennium tapestry - well worth seeing. We had a guided walk round the town which was very interesting and the guide showed us lots of things we otherwise would have missed

Its a bit tucked away but well worth searching out. Small but informative. The tapestry is amazing. Well worth a visit

I don't think there's a shuttle bus but there are public transport buses from the airport to Knutsford. Which bus to catch depends on the day and time of travel. I don't know how much the journey would cost by taxi. If you... More
