A significant landmark at 275 ft high. Originally started as a chimney and named after the mill owner of 150 years ago. An octagonal stone edifice with stylish top. Limited public access, but the 403 steps can be climbed on Bank Holidays. World record holder!!!

Ace asset to the Halifax skyline. Go up if only once the view is terrific and the climb to the top will get that lactate in your thighs going.

253 ft high finished in 1875 and now owned by Caulderdale Council who do not seem to think of this monument as being anything special as it is difficult to find and there is no information plaque at its base.

This is a Folly tower, the tallest in the world, Wikipedia says, though there are foolish things in the tower line, and taller, all over the world - eh, Dubai for a start! Originally started as a chimney for a factory, it was never connected...More
