From Sunderland's main city station you don't need to use the metro, you can get direct to the Metro Centres own dedicated Station by Northern services any of the trains to Hexham or to Carlisle stop there, However if you... More

I've had Scottish notes before and spent them no problem. I've always thought its same. You could always contact metro centre management for extra peace of mind. Hope that helps. Enjoy your visit.
