Hi walked over this every day from Gateshead to Newcastle and back, never saw it open all weekend. Lights up different colours at night Very nice bridge

An iconic structure and marvellous to watch as it opens. Built to represent an eye opening and closing and when watching you can see the similarity. Not a day out by itself but worth viewing if your on either Newcastle or gateshead quaysides

If you have never seen this before, its a great design. And being able to watch it rise up to let boats pass beneath it is fabulous.. as it goes up it reminded me of an eye winking. Lovely to walk across with great views...More
