Fantastic walk.

One of the best towns in Cornwall to visit. Nowhere better on a sunny day. You won't be disappointed.

A Big Dissapointment
Sep. 2021
We stayed just outside Fowey for 10 days at the end of September. It was our first visit, We had hoped to centre the holiday around Fowey and the ferry boats and leave the car alone but we only went into the town 3 times as it was absolutely packed each time. There was a slightly manic, unrelaxing feel to the place and It was a big disappointment. I’m sure it’s beautiful in the winter, but we didn’t like it and won’t wont be coming back again.

What a pretty place.
Sep. 2021
Only called in for a couple of hours, but it is such a pretty place, wish could have stayed there.
Seemed to have an almost Mediterranean feel, and was so pretty, with lots of nice restaurants and shops, plus noisy areas, really quiet areas, something for everyone .
Wherever you looked, there was something interesting to see.
Nice riverside / estuary walk. Ferry available. Lovely.

Not the best place to visit
Sep. 2021 • Couples
Beautiful Cornish village. Such a shame the car park at the top of town was extremely busy, not many spaces, your machine wasn’t taking cash, and the app wouldn’t download and it was taking for ever to get through on the phone, car park full of people standing around on their phones trying to pay! Busy places like this forget the apps/cash just install payment by card machines. They have these in Devon, come on Cornwall catch up!
Wasn’t enjoyable very packed streets, no distancing, no-where to sit and eat a pasty, very disappointed, prefer Polperro for a nice visit! The bus from
The car park packed and blocked up the streets trying to pick people up, all rather chaotic!

Dissatisfied

If Cornwall is the poorest county in England it dosnt suprise me . There are hundreds of tourist all wanting to spend there money and the shops and eateries all start closing at 3.30pm. Surely it's still summer ? Dosnt anyone work.past 5pm . Pretty sick of Luke warm pastys as our only choice at 5 ish. The same in pretty much every harbour this year . "Sad really "

Don’t bother.

I would not go back Fowey even if you paid me. Full of horrible, rude people who hate tourists. The term cake & eat it springs to mind!
It has a nice sandy cove for swimming, lovely shops & a picturesque river but very few places to sit & chill. Loads of high end shops & beautiful properties.

Great fishing village to visit
Jul. 2021
Great fishing village to visit. A steep walk down (& back!). Didn't fancy the bus with COIVD and all that... Some good little shops & eateries but did look busy for food. The guided road train was good,

Pretty Fowey
Aug. 2021 • Family
Wonderful area but our accommodation in the tiny village of Pont was very tired, had a nightmare parking area which led directly onto two blind bends on tiny roads. I would definitely return to this area but DEFINITELY not the Treetops holiday rental. Wonderful pub in Polruan - Lugger Inn, on the harbour and looking over to Fowey. We never used the foot ferry but it looked like fun.
This is obviously an exceptional summer (coming out of the pandemic) and this is reflected in some of the staffing issues. Some restaurants/takeaways need quite a bit of patience.
On the whole a lovely and relatively unspoilt part of this busy tourist area.

Whole visit spoiled by disgusting public toilets.
Jul. 2021 • Couples
The toilets in the main car park are disgusting! Smelly, dark, wet floors, hand washing facilities are dirty, one cubicle door lock broken, mother and baby cubicle being used by everyone to wash their hands and the toilet roll used to dry them being thrown in the toilet pan. Toilets not flushing properly and look like they are leaking too. It was bad enough to spoil the visit. Please do something about it!

Excellent Estuary for Holidays for young and old alike.
Jul. 2021
Fowey estuary has something for everyone - young and old. We have just enjoyed a great holiday there using the ferry, the self drive boats and the scenic river trip. Each day the scenery changes with the different craft sailing up and down the river. We were so fortunate to see the largest Clipper in the estuary and set sail for further destinations. The next day was a small cruise ship which had been an Antarctic Cruiser for the wealthy clientele. There were also large cargo ships and small vessels passing every day of our holidays.
