The information boards at the monument, thoughtfully provided by the American Bar Association who built the monument give more information about why the Magna Carta was so important than any of the NT’s information, worth the walk through the mud just to learn a bit.

Everything can be seen within a little walk, but if you go wandering throughout the trails in Runnymede you can see some brilliant views and rest peacefully. This memorial is very nice and the history interesting but it is something that can be seen quickly...More

I've been to Runnymede several times now and was particularly impressed with the new landmark "Writ in Water" — a quiet chamber with the most important clause from Magna Carta reflected in a pool in the centre. The monuments and memorials in the area are...More

Monument built by the Americans to commemorate the influence that magna carte had on its own constitution . Magna carte was signed at this spot by King John in 1215.

There is a special feeling to this place that I cannot explain. Yes, it is just a field with little to see but the importance of this place extends around the world.

Worth and hour or so to walk through the park to see the memorial but little else to do unless you take a picnic.

A nice little historical gem alongside a busy road but off the beaten track in a meadow. I was expecting more than the memorial, perhaps some gardens etc. A great piece of history and a lovely walk along the river to get there

Not the best of monuments, but other monuments in the area make this area more worth visiting. The Magna Carta Monument itself is a small domed structure set in natural surroundings near the River Thames at Runnymede. There are 2 additional information signs. Good to...More

We took a gentle walk from Staines along the Thames to Runnymede pleasure grounds then crossed the road to visit the Magna Carta monument. Can’t believe we have lived in the area 25 years and never been there. Really pleased we now have. It is...More
