Perrygrove Railway runs for 3/4 mile through farmland and woods on the edge of the Forest of Dean. Ride the steam train to all our activities including the unique Treetop Adventure - 5 houses up in the trees, fully accessible and safe - our covered picnic and play area at Foxy Hollow, an Indoor Village with secret passages, and a den-building area in the woods. See our collection of vintage trains (operating on two special days each year). Unlock a casket of treasure! Fun guaranteed. Picnics welcome - or enjoy our cafe serving sandwiches and light refreshments. Lots of special events, including days when Mr. Chuffity is here to show children how the Friendly Engines work and tell stories. Low cost family tickets - nothing else to pay (except the optional Treasure Hunt).

We accidentally turned up on a toddler day. As we were bringing our 3 year old it was a bonus. A nice setup, the train ride is a nice length for most and with a treasure trail to follow means it's not just a sit there and wait to get off. There are some great play areas in the trees... More

Recently had granddaughters birthday party. Ideal location made to feel very welcome even moved engine back so she could have her photo taken with her name on the front. Plenty of room to run around and unlimited rides on train solving clues. My only little moan I think more could have been made of party room itself but all in... More

A great birthday treat for out 3 year old grandson. Family arrived from West Sussex, Brecon and Cardiff. It was suitable for everyone. The train ride was a highlight. Beautifully restored train on narrow gauge lines, engines and carriages, possibly on the small side for the larger person! Adequate parking, but a pity the entrance wasn't signposted more prominently as... More

Perfect for toddlers and Grandparents alike. Staff friendly and helpful and compact settings proved for relaxing visit. Not sure if it would be exciting enough for older children.

Perrygrove railway, Coleford. What a wonderful day out! I can't praise this establishment enough! We went as a family of 2 adults and two very active and energetic under 3 year olds. Jess is nearly 2 and james is nearly 3. We brought our own picnic, although the smells wafting from the kitchen suggested that you could get lovely food... More

We have been visiting here three or four times a year since the the youngest small person was born (he is now 6) and they love it. We arrived today & the eldest proudly declared 'this place is epic!' The treasure hunt is fab. You can ride as many trains as you like. The woods are great to explore, even... More

You arrive at a lovely friendly entrance and after paying into a pleasant cafe with good views of the station and picnic area. The trains are very clean and passengers are not allowed to get on the train until the staff have checked the carriages. On our visit the young staff were very pleasant and courteous. The journey goes through... More

Spent about 3 hours here with the family yesterday. Great for all ages, from one year old to 67 year old in our group Treasure hunt for the children was very enjoyable with goodies at the end. Refreshments in the little cafe with homemade cakes were good. The train ride was a delight and the driver and guard were friendly,... More

Charming little attraction tucked away in the Forest (opposite Puzzlewood) with a steam train, treasure hunt and great treetop play area. Me and my 2 and 5 year old spent a good 4 hours here and they had a great time. I wasnt expecting it to hold their attention for that long however they loved it and the place has... More
