The Red House Museum & Gardens is located in the centre of Christchurch by the Priory. The former Georgian workhouse is now a local history museum which hosts a changing programme of exhibitions and activities for families and adults. Relax in the aromatic walled Herb Garden featuring herbs and old-fashioned roses, and stroll through the woodland walk in the tranquil South Garden. Facilities include, accessible toilets, cafe, shop as well as venue hire spaces.

I visited here with a friend in July on a miserable rainy day and it was a good call It's small, yet informative and had a nice garden and a small area for coffee etc. You should give it a visit.

What a fantastic place! Friendly and very informative. When we visited there were robots on display made from old tech and bits and bobs. Loved it. Recommended for a lovely couple of hours.
