A lovely beach
Sep. 2021
I love this part of the world and this beach. A nice sandy beach as you walk down from the quay. Really pretty and a couple of restaurants and cafes to keep you going

Expanse of sand

Beautiful Sandy beach that seems to stretch for miles. Restaurants, hotels and snack bars are all close by.

Lovely Sandy beach and not too busy
Aug. 2021 • Family
Arrived early and easily found a parking space and a place on the sand. Although a busy sunny August day, it was busy but no where near as busy as others we had visited during our holiday and we felt Covid-safe and comfortable. Good but small range of shops and food places which again weren’t stupidly busy. Was a good relaxing day!

Good family Sandy beach
Aug. 2021 • Family
Very enjoyable sandy clean beach & easy to park. Good for families and not as busy as other beaches nearby if you are looking for more peace & quiet. Also very good fish & chips ( the Lobster Hatch) but the only downside is that due to being popular expect long queues at peak times.

Great place for a leisurely stroll!
Aug. 2021
We are fortunate to have this place nearby to us. It is great for walking along by the beach huts, walking the dog, or taking a dip in the water. The beach is mainly shingle but there are areas of sand particularly opposite the Noisy Lobster restaurant. there is a shop, chippy and snack place there alongside The Noisy Lobster. The area is less crowded than Bournemouth.

Unbelievably bad
Aug. 2021
We brought fish and chips from all things fish takeaway which was ok, but when a small child from our group fell and badly cut his lip the unhelpful staff would not supply the parents with a paper or plastic cup and an ice cube, as they would have to charge for it, just an ice cube. Considering we had spent as a group over £30 they win my tight !!!! of the week award

Seaweed and flies.
Aug. 2021 • Family
We visited as we heard it's the best beach in the area. The beach was very rocky, but that's okay. We set up.

There was mounds of rotten seaweed washed up, which smelled bad and was completely riddled with flies. We thought, well that's nature isn't it, step over and make the most of the water... but it was so full of seaweed, you would have came out looking like a swamp monster.

We couldn't enjoy it with the children (ages 2 and 4), so we packed up and headed down the coast to Boscombe which was so much better.

What a bong
Jul. 2021 • Couples
To be fair council workers in Mudeford Quay warned us of the smell from the seaweed and recommended we caught the ferry to the beach at Hengistbury Head. However we had only endured modern day piracy by paying for car parking here. As we approached the beach 1st the smell and then the ugliness of the seaweed hit you. Only one brave soul was in the water. We walked along the beach. The sand quality was very average. Thankfully we had only paid for an hour's parking so we left for better beaches

A well hidden Gem

We found this by accident, and honestly it’s the best thing we find while down here. Vast expanse of sand and hard walk way make this ideal for those like me who have a walking issue or are in a wheel chair. We walked between the 2 cafe areas and enjoyed refreshments at both like all of this area ideal for well behaved dog owners and their pooches .
