We visited this place today with our daughter and family to see the Wildlife Photographer exhibition on it's last day. The four young grandchildren enjoyed the pictures as much as the five adults. The permanent exhibition is also worth a visit in this excellent local facility.

My wife is very (very) interested in family history and found some ancestral documents on-line which required a visit to Beverley archives part of the East Riding Treasure House. These can sometimes be dreary places but we were both very pleasantly surprised. The treasure house comprises of an archive, a library, a gallery, and a bustling cafe. The atmosphere was... More

Thank you for your very kind words about our Treasure House! We like to think we are a welcoming team, and that the building itself is a destination, not just a service. Our archives team will be very pleased with your enthusiasm! We do get a lot of regulars in our cafe, and they are generally more of the retired... More

Enjoyed my first visit to the Treasure House. The Wildlife photographer of the year exhibition was on and was very impressive. Hard to believe some of the photographs were taken by 10 year olds! The cafe appeared busy unfortunately we didn't have time to visit as our car parking was due to expire. Look forward to visiting in the future.

Many thanks for your kind words about our venue. We're pleased to hear you enjoyed your viewing of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition. It is unfortunate that the cafe was too busy for you to have time to visit, we have had a much larger than usual number of visitors due to the exhibition, which has meant the... More

Saw the Wildlife Photography exhibition and looked round the museum. Nicely laid out and helpful/friendly staff. Managed to find a seat in the cafe too, quieter than I expected for a Saturday. Will definitely visit future exhibitions there.

Thank you for coming to visit us, and we're glad you enjoyed your visit! I think you may have been lucky with the quieter cafe as we have seen it full most weekends. The school holidays had started on 8th April, so that could have meant we had less of a rush that weekend! We hope you enjoy our future... More

We journeyed to this delightfully named museum, library, and art gallery to view the travelling National History museums wildlife photographer of the year exhibition. It was stupendous. Lovely to see one of the junior prizes going to a young man who had taken his photo in a local park, rather than one of those lucky enough to have travelled to... More

We're very happy to hear you enjoyed your visit to the Treasure House. We're extremely proud of the success of Wildlife Photographer of the Year and how inspired and amazed people have been by the entries. We'll pass your comments on to the cafe team, they work extremely hard keeping all our visitors fed and watered! More

Can be extremely busy especially if staff from County Hall decide to use the place as a meeting room - not very good for the general public. Putting that to one side though the scones are delicious. If short staffed can be waiting a while to be served.

Thank you for your review of The Treasure House. We're currently experiencing a larger number of visitors due to the Wildlife Photographer of the Year Exhibition and at peak times during the day, the cafe can get quite full. We are sorry if it took staff a little longer than usual. We hope you enjoyed the WPY exhibition during your... More

We were lucky enough to visit this modern attraction whilst there was an exhibition of natural world photographs good enough to make the judging final. That said the venue also has an interesting museum and art gallery worth visiting. There is a cafe and the building has been tastefully built onto an existing library building dating from the 19th century.... More

Popped in to see the wildlife exhibition. Amazing photos. I was extremely impressed, such a lot to take in in one go so will return for a second viewing if I get chance. This is a pleasant place to while away an afternoon, I like to pop in on a regular basis to enjoy the familiar paintings and and visit... More

A friend knew about this venue and I was happy to go along. The building holds so much more than expected, although we did not see everything. The little museum was great, as was the photographic exhibition. A member of staff also told us about the fantastic models, made of leather and paper. Wow. they were brilliant. The best thing... Went to the Wildlife Photography exhibition which is part of the 2017 Hull City of Culture year. This was the second time I have been to this exhibition, had more time to view the photographs that were on exhibition with categories from all age groups & people from around the world.
