Description:

A green venture working towards an eco friendly way of living with organic,...

A green venture working towards an eco friendly way of living with organic, local and green thinking at the heart of everything we do. Bread and pizzas are made daily in our wood fired oven, and we serve simple rustic dishes made with local, organic and seasonal ingredients, all cooked fresh to order using traditional cooking methods. Supporting local producers the farmshop has a traditional butchers counter, delicatessen, bakery and general store with organic fruit, veg, wines, beers and baby products. All of our bread, cakes, patisserie and even chocolates are organic and are hand made in our own kitchens.

Quick and simple lunch for a couple. Freshly made soup ideal to warm you up on cold frosty day. It is light and airy room which which has a organic shop to take home some treats. Good size parking area. Friendly and helpful staff.

This is a small place compared to Mainsgill Farm just down the road, which is nice if you want a bit of quiet whilst resting and eating (compared to Mainsgill) At present there is minimal Christmas decoration which is a shame however the bacon and or sausage sandwiches and coffee make up for it. The furniture is comfortable. There is... More

Delicious milk shakes and coffee in the cafe (seems they have a large menu choice, but we didn't eat). Fabulous local cheeses with wonderful names, like Shepherd's Purse. and smoked goats cheese (which was delicious). Organic meat, honey, biscuits, fantastic freshly made bread (we came away with a loaf just out the oven, which tantalised us in the car all... More

I had the most fabulous cake and coffee. The staff are all so friendly and helpful. I then also enjoyed a walk round the shop which has a wonderful selection of different food and gods

I called called in with a colleague for a morning break and ordered coffees and scones. The coffee was excellent: a good latte and an excellent espresso with a great crema. The cheese, chives and mustard scones were simply perfect. Moist, a good flavour of cheddar, and nicely toaster extra cheese on top. Served with plenty of real butter. The... More

We go miles out of our way for an excuse to eat here. The tastes make you feel wonderful. The staff are attentive, careful and thorough. The structure is well planned, well designed, beautifully light and airy, even on a dark day the Cross Lanes is a beacon of the best quality.

This is our favourite stop on a trip up north. The food is delicious, fresh, local and interesting. The shop has great organic products which make good presents. We had an amazing beef kofta with great salads, delicious and filling ham hock broth and venison sausages with creamy mash. The cakes looked fab but couldn't fit one in, my son... More
