We walked along the coast through the Nothe Gardens and were pleasantly surprised by the tranquility even though the town was not far away. Well worth a detour if your in that part of town.

Lovely large parkland with small children's play area, lots of benches to sit on if you do't want to sit on the grass. Ideal for picnics etc.

We loved the gardens. The plants were lovely and the coastal walk was really enjoyable. There was lots of information points dotted around which gave you an insight to surrounding plants and wildlife.

Beautifully kept and maintained gardens, o site parking but realistically a vey short walk from town. Lovely little café as you arrive for basics (which for us was lovely local ice-cream!) Take a towel or blanket and some snacks and make a picnic of it-...More

The gardens are free to walk around - the Fort has an entrance fee. The gardens are pleasant well kept, seats to relax on.
