This is such a great pub, dating back centuries with loads of original features. Nice filling good food too and reasonable prices by Bowness standards. Definitely worth a visit.

We visited the pub over the weekend as we saw so many lovely reviews about it. The pub itself is GREAT, a beautiful old building with plenty of character. The drinks were also fine and the prices were agreeable. Unfortunately the visit was let down...More

Very busy place, great atmosphere. A lovely traditional pub. Served quickly at a very busy bar. Would definitely go again.

We’ve been coming here for many years now A typical traditional Lakeland pub. Lovely in the winter sitting by the log fire but equally as good in the summer sitting outside in the beer garden. Love it

It's my all time favourite pub in the UK. I first come here 30+ years ago and still love it. I've been in many, many, pubs and seek out traditional ones - this one is a must.

Wonderful local pub that provides great food and a a great British experience. Loved our meal at Hole in t'Wall and really appreciated the decoration (pots and jugs hanging from the ceiling) and the warming fire. Well worth a visit.

Yes it is during the day. Plenty of children's meals and drinks. It gets a bit louder in the evenings.
