Just a very nice visit following a cruise on a cold grey Windermere. Warm and cosy. Five adults & one 7 year old. Pub busy but staff very friendly. Grab a table when you can - no bookings. Service was very good and the food excellent and very reasonably priced. Good quality pub grub with drinks also went down well.

I sat next to the fire on a chilly evening and enjoyed a nice pint of local brew and the mulled wine was tasty. This little Pub was a short walk from the hotel, the walls and ceiling were covered in a wide assortment of items to include a sheep's head. The bartenders were friendly and attentive. Nice and cozy... More

Got a great seat right next to the fire, enjoyed a few ales and mulled wine, lovely and cosy.this pub is full of character ,which makes it stand out from the rest.we couldn't drag ourselves away it was so nice and cosy. The barmaid kept topping the coals and logs up,while we had another drink.great afternoon.

Visited twice over our annual remembrance weekend jolly. In my opinion its the best bar in Bowness. Good beer, friendly staff and great pub ambiance. Recommended.

Unspoiled traditional pub that doesn't need messing with. Friendly staff and good food. Please don't wreck any more of our pub's as there are not many left.

The food is nice (not amazing) but the staff are the worst people I have ever met. The bar man was rude and when another customer asked if he could pay by apple pay his reply was 'how am I supposed to know' they had no patience and can definitely say it's the worst service I have ever received. Unable... More

Really nice pub. Very chilled out and nice atmosphere. We went on a Sunday evening and it wasn't too full at all, just the right amount of people to be not too hectic!

Visited with a group of friends, great selection of ales and traditional decor. Lively atmosphere. One of the best bowness has to offer.
