Winner of the Gold award for best attraction in the South-west 2012, Exmoor Zoo has become an ideal family day out. The zoo has established a good rapport with the North Devon community and offers a very hand on experience for all its visitors.Activities run throughout the day (every half hour in summer), you get to meet a bird eating spider, hold a snake, feed wallabies (under supervision), meet some of the zoos friendly furry animals and of course go to all the talks and feeding sessions (if you can)!Home to the “Exmoor Beast” (a pair of black leopards), Puma, Cheetah, Maned wolves, monkeys and lots of other unusual animals like Tamandua, Fishing cats, Tapir, Singing dogs and Binturong to just name a few! The zoo is a living place with changes all the time; no visit is ever quite the same.Useful information:• Disabled access (wheelchair provision and scooter hire)• Activities through out the day• Cafeteria• Children’s playground• Undercover picnic areas• Zoo trail.

Went to Exmoor Zoo with the girlfriend during our trip to Devon in September and was thoroughly impressed with the entirety of the zoo. A must visit for anybody who loves animals as this zoo has a very large variety - we saw Leopards, Flamingos, Wolves, Meerkats, Alpaca and of course the 'Exmoor beast', a panther. It was very easy... The animals all had spacious enclosures and seemed really happy, they were all out and about and very active! Our favourites included the caracals, maned wolf, binturong, sand cats and golden throated martens - but there were so many to choose from. We also went to the cafe which had a great menu of really reasonably priced food, lovely coffee,... More

An amazing selection of animals - some we had not seen anywhere else, such as the charming binturong and a tayra!! All the animals were in good enclosures but easy to view. We had an excellent view of the wolves and the cheetahs. None of the animals seemed stressed, and there were some excellent handling opportunities - feeding the wallabies,... More

We took our two grandsons and our daughter to the zoo and had a great time. The boys ran around and collected all the stamps and managed to get a medal for their hard work. Only a small thing but they were as pleased as punch and didn't take them off for the rest of the day. We had a... More

As we were in the area for the Bonfire Weekend, we visited Exmoor Zoo on the Sunday: Granny, Mum and Dad, Daniel (8), Any (5), Twins Ellie and William (3). It was cold, but bright and sunny. Wrapped up well, we saw the animals and picnicked in a shelter. The smaller winter number of visitors meant that the children had... More

Abysmal conditions. Why are non endangered animals kept in cages. All awful. I couldn't find much to say. Except small pet handlers were informative.

Okay so why did you come? We will use your entrance money to maintain the animals we have here? Thank you for explaining your beleifs? Incidentally the animals are not in abysmal conditions - we spend our entire lives looking after them and their welfare!! As the owner I just do not understand why you even entered a zoo which... We found this place whilst having a drive around. The home of the Exmoor Beast well they do indeed have some black panthers there but also lots of inquisitive monkeys, and even one or two tarantulas (which my daughter didn't like). The entrance fees and the food aren't cheap but it's a lovely place to go around and so interesting.... More

This zoo has lots of different animals that you wouldn't normally see in zoos i.e. Wolves. It looks small from the outside but is quite big when you get inside. It is very informative and I would recommend it.

Animals scampering across aerial walkways over our heads, cheeky primates leaping and squabbling, small & great cats strutting or sleeping and happy children taking it all in. Exmoor Zoo was a superb zoo experience. The friendly, well-informed staff seemed happy to chat about the animals in their care. The supplied map was easy to follow and feeding times/keeper talks timed... More
