I had discovered that there was a light show in the glen in the evenings in autumn and winter and had waited with anticipation to take our little one there. Eventually we did just that in November of last year. What a disappointment it was....More

We found this place quite by chance. We saw one poster on the side of a wall advertising an illuminated walk. Why it isn't better advertised I don't know. It is steep and uneven, but at night quite magical. Children would love it. There were...More

Great little walk. Spent about 30-45 minutes here with a bit of time to kill - though this was definitely the highlight of my day. It's a secluded area of woodland just out of Douglas which is well maintained. The children enjoyed looking at the...More

A fairly pleasant walk which takes 5 minutes from top to bottom. Nothing much to see and as with most places on the Isle of Man it feels neglected and run down. Not worth a special trip bit take a walk through to see the...More

Pretty little glen tucked behind the horse tram shed in Douglas. Not that much to write home about during the day but at night it becomes a magical distraction. Lights and animations make this a great place to visit particularly with little ones....or those who...More

Only found this place by chance, they light it up in the evening so its a fun walk through the glen after dark where the kids can search for the fairy doors

Didn't know this place was here. Found it late one evening and were a bit unsure whether to explore. So glad we did. Lovely to see the children running around looking at all the lights. A truely magical place.

I was a little sad to see how the glen has changed and gone into decline over the years. It's still an enjoyable little half hour amble with lovely views across the bay but the magical aspect with the fairies etc has sadly gone. Not...More

This is easy to walk to from the main Douglas hotels (at the electric railway end of the promenade). The illuminations have made the glen beautiful at dusk and given more of a reason to visit it. Not too long or hard a walk.

As far a I am aware they are. There is no-one checking at either end of the glen and we have certainly seen people walking their dogs. Hope that helps and that you enjoy it!
