We were in the Isle of Man for the August horse tram festival and saw posters for the Summerhill Glen illuminations so we went in one evening once it got dark enough, to find out what was going on. A nice little excursion and lots...More

Best time to take a stroll through the glen is between 8-30 and 11-30 at night to see it all light up.

During our family holiday we took our children to Summerhill Glen after a meal at The Terminus pub. We arrived at about 8pm, just as it was getting dark and our 2 children (age 10 & 6) loved it, particularly our 6 year old daughter...More

Always worth a visit. Tranquil walks, tumbling waters. Not for the infirm as it is very steep in places.

Is not the best Glen you can see in the Isle of Man, but as is so close to Douglas, is perfect for the daily run, or the odd relax in a day with 1 hour spare time.

Summerhill Glen was definitely the biggest surprise of my trip. I saw pictures before going there and knew what to expect, but seeing pictures doesn't compare to actually being there and walking down the glen. You just have to be there and experience it. Simple...More

Lovely glen in the middle of Douglas/Onchan, quite hard to find as there are virtually no signs leading to it - Why? Even the entrance is very miss-able! As with all the Manx Glens, it is free. You would never have though you were in...More

Visited out of season bit wet and needing some T L C. Should be good when lit up later in season. Good fun for the little ones.

As far a I am aware they are. There is no-one checking at either end of the glen and we have certainly seen people walking their dogs. Hope that helps and that you enjoy it!
