If your in a hurry then walk, its quicker, but if you fancy a rather romantic trundle along the coast to Ramsey, via Laxey, then this method of travel is a must. We travelled the first half, to Laxey, in an open sided Train. It did seem most trains aren't so this was a real treat, cold and windy, but... More

A great excursion. Was cloudy up top and you must step to the side of the cafe and experience the wind - wow takes your breath away. And if you can do in a day without low cloud would be better still. Fabulous scenery

We done this trip yesterday and got off at Laxey to visit the Laxey Wheel and got some great photo's,we then took the train to the summit of Snaefell(Snow mountain) Mountain and we had the best experience ever. We then took the train to Ramsey and again it was great. The staff on all of the trains were fabulous, so... More

The views and scenery were spectacular. We trundled our way up Snaefell with plenty of time to take in the views. At the top we got out and walked around, finishing with a cup of hot chocolate in the cafe - warm and cosy out of the wind!

The tram line takes approximately 30 minutes to reach the summit, stopping once at the TT level. This was closed and undergoing works whilst I was there. The trams themselves are quaint and the schedule means that often people are packed in to full capacity - especially on the way down. The scenery is beautiful at the top, but I... More

The electric railway is my favourite transport on the island. I strongly advise you to go to the snaefel mountain on it. You'll get stunning views of the coast and the way up to the mountain feels just great. Besides, if you're lucky enough to take it on a sunny day, you might be able to see England, Scotland and...
