This is a must for individuals and families visiting Douglas. To sedately travel the length of the promenade on a tram pulled by magnificent work horse is truly a memory to treasure. These horses are very well looked after and at the end of their working life are retired to a beautiful home for retired horses just on the outskirts of Douglas.This... We took the horse tram one afternoon and it was a lovely way to see the prom in a different way compared to driving. And it's lovely to meet the horses and their team of carers

On a nice sunny day when you do not fancy a two mile walk....this is the way to see the sea front in Douglas, pubs at both ends of the promenade and close to each stop. Enjoy a relaxed adventure.

We rode from one end to the other and back up half way. The only thing I'd suggest is, while riding up towards the ferry terminal a couple of kids rode up front, I asked how many could ride upfront and he said 3 (i think) any way on the way back my daughter asked if she could right at... More

Vintage horse trams on Douglas seafront. Not to be missed and really good for all ages. You could use it to get from the Manx Electric Railway and to the Isle of Man Steam Railway. Have a railway marathon and travel right down the west coast from Ramsey to Port Erin!

Really special trip along the promenade, easy to hope on and off and see all the attractions as you take in the fresh sea air.

Get the Isle of Mann transport card and the horse tram is included. Service is frequent during the day and links one end of the promenade with the other.

I woke up most mornings to the sound of the horse tram passing our hotel window, so we just had to take a trip ( or two ) on it. It's a wonderful way to travel along the prom, and you can buy a multi ticket that allows you to travel on the tram & trains which I would highly... More

Good to look at. But in reality a dangerous mobile roadblock more than a valuable tourism asset. And the Government needs to clean up a the stinky mess left behind by the horses - a disgrace this year.

Want to imagine how life was in Douglas - the Horse Tranway gives you a really good idea. Although I did not ride on it. I stopped to watch it several times. Typifies the town
