All the other reviews say it all. Excellent informative narrative from the Captain. Having done afternoon trips both North and South from Douglas I prefer the Laxey trip as you have a stop off there for an hour - time for stroll and an ice-cream.

We love a boat trip wherever we go. Sought out this one from the Sea Terminal in Douglas. A different trip up and down the coast is scheduled each day at 2pm for 2-3 hours. The trip we went on was to Old Laxey up the coast, with a 1 hour stop ashore. The gentleman who greets you in the... More

What a lovely experience. We choose a nice day Tuesday ,calm waters and thoroughly enjoyed the hour each way sail with a one hour stop in Port Erin to enjoy a lovely local ice cream on the promenade. The Captains commentary was first class both ways. With amazing scenery and seals to watch it was bizarre that only 6 passengers... More

My son and I had a very enjoyable afternoon out on the M.V. Karina. We sailed along the coast to the Dhoon and had a very informative commentary. I have also been on this trip to Derbyhaven and that too taught me a great deal of Manx history. I would recommend this boat trip to locals and holiday makers.

I've been on the Karina countless times, and always enjoyed it. Captain Carter gives a running commentary, and am always amazed at his depth of knowledge of all things Manx. For a two-hour trip, it really is exceptional value. No matter whether the boat is crowded or there's only a handful of passengers, you get the feeling that he does... More

My last trip on the MV Karina was to welcolme the Commonwealth Games Baton to Douglas Isle of Man. The trip accompanied the Baton out of the harbour and across Douglas Bay. Entertainment was provided by a local folk group singing shanties and popular folk songs, refreshments were also available. I would recommend taking a trip on this vessel as... More

Trip from Douglas to Dhoon Glen and back. The boat was well equipped with a toilet and refreshments. Only 6 passengers on our cruise and plenty of room to move around. The captain kept up an informative commentary throughout. His narrative was entertaining and he didn't linger too long on any subject, so interest was maintained. His knowledge of the... More

Saw the good reviews and decided to try this & what a great trip that was. Had a perfectly flat calm sea on a beautiful summer's day and can only agree with all the positive comments. Captain is obviously a history buff and gave a great commentary. I've been associated with IoM since the 1970's - only heard about this... More
