Smell those kippers smoking

Went to buy kippers to send home as these are the best. Traditionally smoked, which makes them special. It was smoking day so Mr Moore gave us a look at the smoking and explained... read more

The Museum is only open for Tours on a Monday. Other days are available for pre-booked groups. We arrived on a Tuesday and were disappointed, although we were told that if we came back the following afternoon and they were not too busy it might be possible to have a look around. We did buy some kippers and arrange to... More

The worlds smallest car was built here on IoM! And it's here in this museum, along with a range of worthwhile transport exhibits.

We visited Moore's not to go round their museum but to buy kippers to send home to my Dad in the post. The staff member who served us was friendly and helpful. He apologised that as it was well into the afternoon he would arrange for the parcel to be sent the following day (Wednesday). When I called my Dad... More

You might not love kippers, but this tour of a traditional family business gives you a good look into how they do it. It is not a long drawn out tour, you need to be able to climb stairs. AND....afterwards get some product. I got smoked bacon and, oh mY! it was soooo goood!

After eating excellent smoked salmon at Christmas we visited over Easter weekend to buy some kippers in person. Although we were out of season, the owner asked us if we would like to see how they are smoked and gave us s whistle stop tour of the smokehouse. We purchased kippers which were worth every penny We will be back!

We arrived about 11am to ask about the tours advertised on the leaflet we had stating tours where available till the end of sept. The male staff member in the shop was on his mobile phone as we entered the shop, ignored us for a few minutes, still talking on his phone. He looked up (still on his mobile) and... More

Moore's small shop provides the best Manx kippers and smoked bacon on the Isle of Man. We will now be ordering by post until the next visit to the IOM.
