First time at this theatre to see Red Hot Chilli Pipers who were absolutely fabulous. The theatre is lovely, clean & comfortable, the staff were very friendly & helpful. The only thing I wasn't too happy about was the fact that people were going in & out during the show to buy drinks. I enjoyed a drink before going in... More

Came here to watch the Red Hot Chili Pipers (who were absolutely brilliant). The Playhouse was a great venue and I would be happy to come back here again.

We try to get down to the Playhouse a couple of times a year mainly for the excellent Rock and Roll shows that come particularly an act called That'll be the day which is a 3 hour long fast moving extravaganza of comedy and music and not to be missed back again on October 19th 2017 Staff are very friendly... Parking is excellent and the access to the theatre is very good indeed. Once inside the staff are friendly and helpful. The entrance is open and easy to get around. Maybe a few more chairs and tables would help. Entrance into the main theatre is easy and seating is very good indeed. One of the better venues I have been... More

Since this venue opened my partner and I have visited on a number of occasions. Unfortunately tickets need to be purchased through ticket master at high booking fee. Better to pay cash at the box office. There is a cash machine at the nearby Coop. Ken Dodd appears every year and is worth seeing. It's mainly artists from the past... More

I have been to the Whitley Bay Playhouse on many occasions and I find this to be a very intimate venue where there is not a bad seat to be found. They virtually all have a good clear view of the stage area and the sound is also very good. Seats are comfortable enough with enough leg room from the... More

Just been to this year's panto offering (Aladdin) at the Whitley bay playhouse. Excellent stuff, all you could expect, from celebrities (Shane Lynch from Boyzone) to flying carpets and lots of audience participation. The small nature of the theater meant that everyone felt involved and we all had a great time. There were some technical issues (radio mics not working)... More

Went to see Elkie Brookes last Friday, venue was superb, good view good sound & comfy seats!!! Slightly spoiled by being surrounded by Scottish Elkie fans who insisted on singing every word while drunkenly messaging on their phones but hey thats not the venues fault !!
