Impressive building

We stopped only to admire the castle across the water but it looked intriguing and I'd return to see more when I'm back in the area.

A lovely castle to visit in a lovely location. Although the castle closes around 3pm in the winter stick around for the sunsets. Stunning.

Carew Castle has nothing at all just wall ruins not even a café only a coffee/tea machine in the tiny shop. The roads up to it which you will have to walk are tedious, broken with potholes and horse manure. a Definite nono

We are so sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your visit to the Castle. We unfortunately do not yet have a café on site but currently have a planning application in to build a café in the Walled Garden. As you can imagine restrictions on building at a Scheduled Ancient Monument are very strict but we hope to... More

This was a lovely castle to visit surprisingly big on the inside Lots off uneven flooring which the more infirm might find difficult but all the same well worth a visit. On a disappointing and misleading note there is a Cadw sign at the entrance but we were told that this is not for the castle only for the celtic... More

Many thanks for your review. We are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed visiting the Castle. We often hear from visitors that they find the Castle bigger, with more to see, on the inside than they expected. Please accept our apologies for any confusion regarding the Cadw sign. It is indeed the Celtic cross outside of the Castle whicg... More

What a wonderful surprise this castle is. There is a lot of it left and gives a great opportunity to walk round, go up and down the towers and ramparts. Some steps are Dodgy of course, that's what our expect from such an old place. The views from the towers are wonderful as well. It's lovely and unspoilt

Enjoyable evening tour with knowledgeable guide. I'm very cynical about ghost stories but an enjoyable experience being in such a place late in the dark .... well worth a visit.

Thank you for your review. Our ghost tours were new for 2016 and proved very popular as there is a wealth of ghost stories and legends surrounding the Castle! I will pass your kind comments on to Christian, our ghost expert, who lead the tour that night. More

Two hours should be enough to enjoy this quasi ruined castle. But one can also visit the Mill, just outside the castle. There's also a nice picnic area and a good souvenir shop

My children absolutely loved the ghost hunt they had running here, which was well designed to encourage you to see all the castle. The write-ups in the guide were very informative but easy to read and the fire in the Lesser Hall was very welcoming. We went round the castle first and then visited the very good toilet facilities before... More

If you like visiting castles or historic building go. But there really isn't a huge amount to see, so you won't spend more than 60-90mins. However, as we went in October they had laid on a ghost hunt which my kids loved, which is why I have marked it very good. Oh and go to the pub opposite ( Carew... More
