Overview
More
Located in the heart of the South Downs National Park, Cowdray Estate is a beautiful place to stop and visit as you travel along the A272. There is a myriad of footpaths and Benbow Pond next to the John Cowdray Arboretum covers 16 acres and has over 140 types of trees, with walkways and mown pathways. The pond is a haven for wildlife, and is also the site of a memorial temple. The nearby Cowdray Farm Shop & Cafe is open daily and serves home cooked food and sells a range of fine foods.

As a long standing member of the Polo Club I was appalled at the scrum in the stands. In former days members were able to enjoy the final without an endless stream of people marching up and down the stands spilling drinks as they went....More

Having taken time out for the Cowdray Polo matches, I strolled round the grounds and park during the match intervals. This is a very well maintained and kept park. Strongly recomend to watch the cricket, stroll or picnic. Doug

While visiing family in Fernhurst, we stopped for tea & cake at the café in the walled garden next to Cowdray Castle, in Midhurst, West Sussex. Really lovely setting, with the dog being allowed inside the café. Also, the old castle of Cowdray is worth...More

Well we were going to go to Woolbeding Garden but they were fully booked and I am glad, otherwise we might not have discovered this delightful walled garden and cafe which was so peaceful and secluded. Delightful tea and cake served by a charming gentleman.

We parked by the farm shop and walked to the old ruin and walled garden. A peaceful place, full of beautiful roses. Farm shop was very tempting, we bought quite a few yummy things.

This little gem was amazing find. Bank holiday Monday sat in scented garden with tea and cake. Quintessentially English setting so close to Cowdray park and town of Midhurst.

Extensive walks around beautiful grounds, with the interesting ruins of the old manor, which are unfortunately closed off. The areas open to the public are wide ranging and well maintained, perfect for long leisurely walks. And all for free. The walled garden with its secluded...More
