This is by far the best Ghost Tour Walk. Myself and my partner were a little early so walked through the old graveyard. That is where we first encountered our host. Dressed the part strolling through the headstones. There was only half a dozen of us in the tour. Loved every minute - what a fantastic story teller!! Even when... More

Thank you, Julie. I'm glad you enjoyed the show. Whether we're performing to a huge audience or to a solitary visitor - if there's an audience, the show goes ahead! - we try to engage as many of them as possible. We hope you enjoyed your experience of the Old Town. More

The Stirling ghost walk is a great way to pass an evening in Stirling. The host Jock Rankin is always dressed in period costume and cuts a fine figure as he struts through the town. His knowledge of his subject is excellent and delivery is perfect. I thought it was about time I reviewed this attraction because every customer I... More

Thank you, folks! The GhostWalk owes a great debt to local businesses, hotels & B&Bs - which is why we offer a 10% discount for patrons of such establishments! It's always nice to see our efforts are appreciated. Thank you, again! More

The carnaptious & repugnant Jock Rankin met us close to the gates of the Old Town Jail and led us on a tour of the Old Town Cemetery & surrounding area, regaling stories of the paranormal, supernatural, and outlandishly fictional. Despite the odd midge & the lowering temperature as the sun set, the small band of us who accompanied Jock... More

Ha! It's not often you read words like 'carnaptious' and 'repugnant' in a 5-Star review, or that a guide would be pleased to be described, thus...but I think The Hangman would consider it a compliment! He's a big fan of irony...but that's what keeps him 'Happy'. We should point out, though - for those who might find his grumbling glour... More

Excellent story teller. He really brought the tales of the past to life. You get a 10% discount if staying in a local hotel or B and B which was nice. Really recommend this tour for a good yarn and a gory history lesson.

Thanks, 'Pudding. Live entertainment can be very expensive, particularly for families - which is why we keep GhostWalk ticket prices low, and offer discounts to visitors to local hostels, hotels and B&Bs. The Hangman will be doing the same thing with the daytime historical Old Town Tour, this year. Details of THAT on the SGW website! More

OUTSTANDING EVENING - we loved how the Happy Hangman combined humour with terrible and gruesome tales - I booked a tour for friends who visited from Denmark 🇩🇰 and they had a fantastic night! Couldn't recommend this highly enough

Thank you, Smiddyds! I'm glad to say that the GhostWalk is often recommended as a great way for overseas groups to learn a little about the Old Town...and have fun while they're at it. I'm glad your friends had a good time, and hope they will remember The Hangman kindly. More

This is by far the more fun I have ever had at a cemetery! Our ghost guide was so incredibly good his descriptions of characters makes it feel as you know them. He is entertaining and keeps your attention the whole time. I highly recommend this activity. If visiting during winter take comfortable warm clothes and shoe warmers.

Thank you Maria, glad you enjoyed the experience. Comfortable warm clothes are actually a good idea all year long...as you never know what you are going to get with our wonderfully unpredictable Scottish weather! More

Thank you, SaintMorag. The Hangman can be a cheeky chap, at times - but rest assure, he's far gentler with those who are nervous or discombobulated (as people sometimes are in darkened graveyards!). Glad you enjoyed the show! More

Had the pleasure of a night on the company of the happy hangman. Great storyteller, full of humour and frights and just great fun. Tickets reasonably priced and well worth it for a night out with a difference. Go give it a whirl :)

I travelled up from Glasgow for the evening on a wet and windy Friday night to join the Ghost Walk with a coupld of friends. From the minute our guide, the 'Happy Hangman', appeared (complete with full historical dress and ghostly makeup!), we knew we were in for a great night. Although the walk itself isn't very far, the first... More

Thank you, Frances. Glad you enjoyed the experience. We have, as you say, been going for a long time (nearly 28 years, actually), and probably could do more to promote the show - though in our defense, it's largely by not engaging in expensive promotional campaigns that we manage to keep our ticket-prices low. We haven't changed our prices in... More

Went to this tour last night andit was 100 times better than expected. It is entertaining and worth paying. Hangman involved people in his stories from the crowd. Next time we will do the history tour!

Thank you, Eija. Glad you enjoyed the experience. The daytime Old Town Tour - which David (The Happy Hangman) performs for another company, Stirling Walking Tours, should be up-and-running again in the summer. Check their TA pages for details More
