Learnt so much about Hartlepool. As a first time visitor it was time very well spent. Very interactive for children also, would recommend allowing somewhere in the region of 1 - 2 hours to fully appreciate what it has to offer.

The museum is a well laid out and informative exhibition of the history of Hartlepool.. of which I knew nothing prior to my visit. It is well laid out and signed and covers so many aspects of the history and rise of the town. It is well worth a visit and free of charge....with helpful and welcoming staff on hand... More

A well kept town museum explaining the history of the town from pre-historic times. It is well planned, clean, and tidy with plenty of clear information signs. It is also free, and so much better than the neighbouring Hartelpool Quay museum and Trincomalee.

Dear Lorraine. We sincerely apologise for the distress caused to your Mam and to yourself and your nephews. This customer service clearly falls well below our high standards. The museum is the free part of this marina experience and as such is well worth a visit. Great if you are on a budget and the weather is not so good.

The museum is free as is the car parking. Many interesting exhibits including the Wingfield Castle, a metal ship. There are also interactive exhibits for younger visitors.

The Museum is free to enter and look around, plenty of FREE parking outside on Jackson Dock. We did this as part of our maritime & quay visit

There are lots to see here, with interactive activities for kids and adults. Admission is free which is amazing, and there is also the famous warship (the oldest one by the way) on the same compound (though you must pay to visit this) which is still afloat in the UK called the Trincomalee. Definitely worth a visit.
