A photo opportunity when in Bangor along with the nearby North Down Museum and Walled Garden.

There are aspects of this building that have redeeming qualities. There is a bit of a museum and a dining facility, that is actually quite good. It is a big venue for non-church weddings and the photo facility is quite good. Really good views of the train station and the Police station. It is home to some of the Bangor Council... More

More of a large country house than a castle. Used now as Council Offices and for weddings. It was completed in 1852 for the Hon Robert Edward Ward - in the Elizabethan-jacobean revival style and had no fewer than 35 bedrooms with a huge salon for musical recitals (now used as the Council Chamber). The inside can only be seen... More

The castle itself is now the Town Hall so you can't go inside. The building is more of a huge country house than a castle but it does have crenellations and small towers. You can walk round the formal gardens at the front and visit the museum at the back. There is also a very nice cafe. Don't miss the... More

This is quite a good place to go with good facilities and really good information about Bangor Castle. There is plenty of things to do inside and a patch of grass at the back and nice coffee shop.

This is not a castle you would visit for a family day out as it is the Council Office for the district! If you need to register a birth or death, complain about bin collection etc. then great but a tour of the council offices is not on the cards. You can ask to see the council chamber and indeed... Attended a family wedding ceremony here - beautiful venue and views when the weather plays game! The grounds are in impeccable condition and are always well maintained, the castle itself also feels very regal when inside and gives off a very historic and prestigious feeling when inside.

Bangor castle and the walled garden is a good place to take beautiful photographs and to take a quiet walk. From the building itself there is a great view of the sea. I have also attended a wedding at the Castle some years ago and it makes a great wedding venue.

The castle is a good place to capture photographs. The building itself is not the only attraction but the view of the sea from the castle gives a magnificent look. A must see place for tourists.

The castle is beautiful. Attended a wedding here and it felt more like a stately home. The gardens surrounding the castle are so well kept and the walk very relaxing.
