Had to visit here, always been fascinated with anything to do with the legend of Excalibur and King Arthur. Well we didn’t see a sword or any Knights or a round table. What we found was a fairly small pretty lake. But we enjoyed our...More

Really quite and serene as well as a beautiful view. As a matter of fact, whilst we were there, there were 3 cows standing in the pool at the edge. Strange sight but nice to see.

This is well worth the short detour from the main road. It is very atmospheric and had a good variety of ducks, including a rare Lesser Scaup. Parking is limited and, at this time of year, it is essential to wear wellies! The track down...More

We were passing this on the way home and remembered this one of the possible places where excaliber was thrown into the lake so we thought it might be interesting. Was quite a long drive along quiet winding roads. We arrived and basically this was...More

Dozmary pool is in a beautiful location high on Bodmin moor. I don't really recommend it to someone who does not like narrow roads but it is very interesting and beautiful.

We took a spur of the moment detour to Dozmary Pool, having read about its supposed association with the myth of King Arthur and Excalibur. Road signage is poor, but the site is reachable by GPS navigation. Close to the pond, you will drive on...More

When you approach this tranquil setting by foot (god help you if you choose to do so by car, as you'll likely find yourself down a single narrow lane of road, with the sides of your vehicle scraping against the walls of bramble), the solitude...More
