You need a head for heights if you want to walk to the middle to get the perfect shots with your camera, but well worth it, maybe not on a windy day!
Exceptional views, an old basic structural bridge but very strong & single lane traffic - you just take turns.

The bridge looks like its from a previous century, very strong looking. Since its free to look at, its a very nice diversion from the long haul from Alaska.

An engineering feat worth a close look. Stopped & walked across, even more amazing when you see what the native populations managed to accomplish centuries ago.

One of my favorite spots to walk or drive over. From the bridge, you get to see so much of the majesty of the area. From this vantage point, you see the mighty Rouche de Boule (Stekyoden) overlooking New Hazelton, and then Nine Mile Mountain on the opposite side.
The best part by far is looking down at the Bulkley River underneath. In the summer, you might be able to catch some kayakers going down the canyon and around the bend.
I recommend walking across this bridge, it is just thrilling to stand on top of a historial site.

I have driven over this bridge numerous times over the years. On my last trip, just a week or go I felt very vulnerable for some reason. Perhaps it is being an octogenarian.

As previous raters- this is a pretty spectacle setting and with the open decking really neat to drive across. Free of course.

The history of the previous bridges built over this canyon is quite interesting and are all spelled out on a sign erected at the pullout on the south side of the bridge. The bridge is a narrow one lane affair with no sidewalks on it. If you are brave enough you can walk out onto the bridge and get some amazing photos of a very deep and beautiful gorge under the bridge.

Well, it is my favourite bridge so I give it 5/5. It is only one lane so sometimes you have to wait for a car or two. I try to have the Vancouver traffic reports on the radio so I can hear about the 1/2 waits at the bridges there. Stunning. Believe it. Also, the trails below have been walked for over 10,000 and there are left over pits from when oolichan grease was the currency.

There is a layby on the approach from the main highway, be careful of the traffic as you approach and explore the bridge. It's well worth the stop, stunning gorge.

I have always taken the time to stop and share the excitement of walking out on the walkway on either side of this one-lane bridge with friends who visit. It is high above the Bulkley Canyon between New Hazelton and Old Hazelton. When you're out in the middle of the bridge, if you have the nerve to walk that far, there's a stunning view of Roche de Boule, the mountain that dominates the landscape of the area. The bridge has a see-through bottom, the structure allows the winter snows to fall through yet provide a safe overpass of the river. There is good parking on either side of the bridge.
