Part of the hike from Zarnesti to Curmatura chalet, Zarnesti gorges (Prapastiile Zarnesti) are quite spectacular. They tend to be very busy over the weekends, especially during summertime. The trail follows the stream through the gorges for a few kilometres. It's a good activity for a hot summer day, as the trail is shaded by tall rocks. You can reach Prapastiile Zarnesti (canyon) very easy, on a dirt road from Zarnesti. You can see indicators everywhere. After you leave your car on the side of the road, you start an easy walk that lasts for about 2 hrs, in which you can admire the high walls of the canyon, wonderful forest and plants. I visited tge place in October and it was a great decision. The trees were colored in green, red, yellow. Wonderful place for a day out …
