Frind Estate Winery (FEW), beautifully located close to a lake beach in West Kelowna, is the new kid on the Okanagan block, so to speak.
FEW is the realization of the dream of owner, Markus Frind, who bought the property & established the winery after selling his very successful dating business, Plenty of Fish.
As he made a splash with Plenty of Fish, Frind is bound to as well with the wine made from the grapes grown on this beautiful winery estate.
I was happy to find its Big Red 2022 to give as part of my birthday package to my daughter-in-law for her resonating 47th birthday this January.
It is a stunning blend of 8 varietals, which include those associated with one of France’s premier growing regions, as well as small pcts of varietals from those more common in Italy & other regions in France.
Delicous wine is crafted by its female chief winemaker, Corrie, who has experience acquired in premier wine growing regions around the world.
Prior to joining FEW she was with Mission Hill, another of the noted Okanagan wine estates.
It is a wonderful spot where one can feast, taste & soak up awesome surrounds.
It also has a wonderful wine club set up to ship the fine wines produced on FEW to one’s door.

A beautiful setting on the lake, a warm sunny day and a fascinating wine tasting experience. I learned a lot at the wine tasting and appreciated the variety of wines we could try. Friendly and very knowledgeable staff who didn't make me feel foolish for all that I did not know! Loved the time. We stayed and got food from the take out to eat at the tables outside. The food was delicious. The only disappointment was that it took over an hour to receive our food....we were cold and it was getting dark by then. But it doesn't stop me from saying this place is well worth the visit. Their wines are very special and the setting is outstanding.

This was a charming winery. The tastings are done standing up at the counter which aren’t my favourites but the wine ambassadors are really nice. The wine is largely high quality - I particularly love their Rosé and Midnight. We also love the little cafe and enjoyed some pizza outdoors. Would love to try the beach

Absolutely stunning property! Beach front access, wonderful cafe (Pastries are dream worthy) and great people! We had a tasting with Rod and although we were his first tasting of the day, he was on point and knows his stuff. Great banter and insight.

Visited in July, I was very pleased to be helped quickly in the entrance to have my tasting experience.

High-quality wine , nice patio, and dog friendly on the beach front. Beautiful beach with boat dock.

We started with a tasting and Jamie was incredible. So knowledgeable and engaging. Great service. We then got a table and ordered pizzas to share at our table. Beautiful setting and delicious pizzas that paired well with our Rose! Can't wait to bring friends back here!

We came on a girls trip to Kelowna and ended up this winery. I’m a red wine person usually, however I loved almost every one of their wines.. red… white… bubblies. It was so incredible. Our private tasting was done beautifully and we had reservations for the patio after where we ate the most incredible food! (Try the curry mussels they are to die for!) The property is stunning as well!

I joined the wine club and have officially named this my favourite winery! Highly recommend!

If you read my previous review, initially we had great experiences with our tastings at this winery. The last few times we have visited and recommended to friends it has been downhill. Our last visit we took friends and recommended it, when doing the tastings our friends as per our recommendation all signed up as wine club members. When we asked if we could taste the desert wine, the lady told us it’s only for member and only I could try a small glass. To my surprise I explained we just had 4 people sign up and she was determined that because she had not put their information in the system yet, that they couldn’t try it but mentioned if I wanted to give each of them a sip from my glass I could. Honestly extremely embarrassing, if it had been me in my friends shoes I would have ripped up the membership I just signed up for. So disappointing and I know I will never bring friends here on my recommendation again.

We visited Frind Winery July 16 th and were greeting by a lovely host. We were able to sample wines without a wait (5 tastings for $10). The girl pouring the wines was a delight ( Deborah) she was knowledgeable about the wines as well provided us the interesting history of how Frind Winery came about. We were so impressed with the quality of wine and down to earth atmosphere that we became wine club members that day. The winery is set on the Okanogan Lake on a beautiful estate that has a modern wine tasting area, a bistro where you can pick up snacks and light lunch. At the bistro you are able to purchase wine by the glass or the bottle and you can take it outside and sit at one the picnic tables or benches looking out to the picturesque lake. You could even bring your own picnic lunch and sit on the beach and take a dip in the refreshing lake. This winery is kid friendly and no purchase is necessary to venture their nicely groomed grounds or take some time to relax and enjoy the amazing views. We met the owner Marcus Frind, who was circulating the winery while we there ensuring that everything was just perfect. I definitely recommend that anyone that visits wine country in Kelowna to visit this winery.

We enjoyed a lovely lunch on the patio at Annie’s after a long drive from Vancouver. Beautiful setting and helpful staff. The wait was about a half hour for a table despite several patio tables being unoccupied - perhaps the kitchen is understaffed. We preferred to wait rather than order from the take-out operation alongside as the picnic tables were all occupied. The food was good value and filling, though not particularly memorable. Their lunch share boards with a variety of items are the highlight. Excellent Okanagan wines at very reasonable prices, our tip if you are driving is to get a bottle with your meal, have just the amount with which you are allowed to drive on, and you can take the rest of the bottle with you.
