We visited a few times over the summer. Weekdays are a great time to explore the trails through the park grounds as they are relatively quiet and peaceful. Paths are mostly flat and easy-going, unless you head off into the woods. Weekends can be very busy with local Italian families picnicking and exploring. It adds a nice buzzy atmosphere to... More

It's a kind of 'compex', with a restored monastery and church, extensive grounds and a couple of cafes and restaurants. The monastery has been sensitively renovated and conveys a good sense of what monastic life was like. I found the church particularly evocative - stark and with a strong spirit of place. Walks of various lengths are available and while... More

Dear visitor, thanks a lot for your review. We are pleased to read your opinion on our site. Actually the whole area is very suggestive and suitable for every age. Our aim is to preserve both the abbey and the wood around it. Best regards, Francesca More

Easy to find but strangely devoid of crowds, the abbey’s church and cloisters are a lovely site to wander around, especially on a hot day as there is plenty of tree cover. There are lots of walks going out into the surrounding parkland if you feel so inclined but it was just too hot when we visited. The abbey’s church... More

The Abbadia di Fiastra is full of italians at weekends, enjoying the marked walks, visiting the abbey or having an aperitivo in one of the bars. Also there are concerts and exhibitions throughout the summer. Lovely place to relax.

Not so long ago, it was possible to come here to get away for a while from the noise and cars and hectic commerce of the town. If it was open - which wasn't always - one could wander silently in the cloisters and monastery grounds, most probably in complete solitude, re-charging one's spiritual batteries and meditating on the beauty... This was a real finding during our tour in Marche due to Opera Festival in Macerata. The Abbey is really a special place with a perfect restoration of monastry parts and cellars. We enjoyed also the gardens of the close noble villa.

Abbazia di Fiastra is lots of things - an old abbey church with lots of interesting features that is well worth a visit. A huge park and nature preserve where you can walk or cycle and enjoy the countryside. Take a picnic, or eat at the very good cafe on site. You can do lots, or you you can do... More

Dear Mr. Borghmans Tom, we are sincerely sorry for the misunderstanding. If you come back to our Abbey, it will be a pleasure for us to make a free guided tour of the rooms around the cloister. Best regards, Francesca Cola More

We were there in May in a beautiful sunny afternoon. We had lunch in one of the restaurants and then we had a guided tour in the monastery. The guide spoke good English and he was enthusiastic and eager to share with us all the knowledge he had about the history of the place. We learned new things about the... More
