Surfer's place

Put on your wet suit and bring your board. This is the place for surfers near Halifax. The beach is pebbled and often foggy but it is wonderful just the same.

Really nice beach as it stretches long. it is quite stony so bring something to sit on. Great for watching the big waves and surfers even on a cold day

It's a great beach to explore - good walks to be had along the shore and the salt marshes on the other side of the road are good for additional bird watching.

This is a nice beach with fun waves. However, if you don't like the cold do not expect to enjoy the water, you have to let your limbs go numb before you can enjoy the waves.

I live about 15 minutes from Lawrencetown and it has always been my spiritual place to decompress, relax, stop and smell the roses. It is a "cold" beach, not meant for those of you who like to like on the beach and roast...you can do this, but you will be pretty cold most days, even in summer.(If this is your idealic day,go to Queensland beach)... A great spot to enjoy the afternoon, sitting on the beach, walking the trails, jumping the waves, surfing and swimming. The sunsets are beautiful. Temperatures are lower than the city it's a good idea to have a sweater, just in case.

Me and my boyfriend went there last week and since everyone is back at school we were pretty much the only ones there. It was amazing and felt unreal because it was just too beautiful to be true. Even though the water was too cold to go in I still happened to find it better than some other beach in... More

This poor beach was destroyed by the government hauling away sand for highways. You may be able to still see the old wooden rigs they used to back the dump trucks up to. It's a shame as there can be a decent surf here but it will be a hundred years before the sand comes back.
