I took my boys to the puppet theatre for a treat..my youngest son has Autism so it was with some anxiety about how he would react that we entered. The owner was welcoming and friendly, he showed us to our seats. As soon as the...More

Thank you for taking the trouble to write a review. I am delighted that you all enjoyed the show, especially Matthew, and hope to see you again. Our next production for the Half term at the end of May is "Toys on Parade" which I...More

Tucked away in Rhos on Sea, just off the sea front is this magical place. Puppeteer Chris was the owner and host and he really does have some wonderful marionettes aged over 100 years. Our three and five year olds were mesmerised. Sad to say,...More

Hi Julie, thank you so much for your review, not only for the kind words but also for taking the trouble to write at all. I am glad that I managed to please both children and adults in your party. To be honest I aim...More

We went to the Harlequin Theatre on Boxing Day - self, my children, my son in law and my three granddaughters. We are glad we went. We love puppets/marionnettes (regulars at the Puppet Barge when it is in Little Venice) but were unaware that we...More

Thank you so much for your very generous review. I am delighted that you enjoyed the show. I take your point that your daughters would have preferred a bit more story line rather than musical fantasy, and they would probably have enjoyed last Christmas' production...More

We have just watched the hansel and gretal performance with our 6 and 3 year old boys. What an absolutely amazing show. The children were absorbed from the very start and to think I was worried the 3 year old would get bored! He was...More

What a lovely review. Thank you very much. I too am constantly surprised at how well the under fours respond. Certainly 20 years ago many 3 year olds were still babies, but not any more. Their attention span is so much greater, and you can...More

Lovely puppet show with a difference, puppets I haven't seen before. My 6 and 9 year old both really enjoyed it. Really simple good humour. Quaint purpose built theatre, with ice cream interval, magic show and show you how the puppets work at the end....More

It is a great help to get constructive feedback and I am delighted that both your children enjoyed the show. I try hard to cater for a family audience and the challenge is to engage the youngest children without patronising the older ones. Thanks so...More

This is the oldest purpose-built puppet theatre, built in the 1950s. Here for a half-term performance starting at 3pm. We booked in advance but plenty of people had turned up without. I would still advise it. There was a short play based on a children's...More

Thanks for your positive review Sally, much appreciated. The Harlequin is indeed the oldest purpose built puppet theatre in Britain, in fact it is the ONLY purpose-built puppet theatre in Britain and it's now in its 58th year!

Thank you, and I'm delighted you enjoyed the show. Your son's contribution added to the show, as do all my young helpers. Without the children I am nothing, it is their imagination and sense of fun which is quite as important as any puppeteeering skill.
