Well worth the effort of a 90 min drive from Pamakkule if you are staying there and have a car. Very quiet, no need to apply "magic erase" to photos to get the people out of pictures, no tourist tat stalls to avoid. In many respects better than Ephesus. Very easy to imagine the grandeur in Roman times. Visually stunning. A nice little cafe on site but no food.

This was a stopover on our way to Izmir from Pamukkale. Not a lot of people know about it so much less crowded than Heiropolis in Pamukkale. The theater is smaller but you can go down to the stage, sit in the governor's seat. It's where marble sculpting was taught so lots of unearthed sculptures were uncovered, many in pretty good condition. They also have a museum with lots of sculptures in it. There are walls built with the tops on columns with faces of the artist's impression of Aphrodite, some quite humorous. Overall a good find and would recommend.

First we visited the museum, wow never seen such amazing sculptures in such good condition and the lighting in there was perfect.
Then a walk in the grounds to see the remains of the temple and further on to the stadium which is a sight to behold, it’s massive!
Also all the sarcophagus outside were beautifully ornate

Visited as part of small group tour. Probably the most interesting site visited except Ephesus .I took more photos at this site than any other(about 50!)
A little off the main tourist route so one can explore in relative peace.
A vast Greco -Roman city ,part of which is strewn with stone blocks giving an insight into the puzzling task that archeologists face!
Huge gateway, temple of Aphrodite, theatre and odeon are magnificent but the most amazing structure is the enormous stadium 270 x 60 metres.Imagine Ben Hur style races.
The on-site museum contains statues ,well designed displays, excellant signage.VERY impressed . Air conditioned and well lit with PIR sensor lighting
Toilets by museum clean .
Small shop sells fresh juice, good coffee and ice cream.
We only had a morning,I would have liked far longer in the museum.

Amazing site of ruins, quite walkable, with highlights of stadiums, bath house, sculpture's workshops and the ruins of the Aphrodisias temple itself. Ideally you need 3+ hours to visit!

Amazing hidden gem. There should be more visitors. It is a large ancient city. The museum is also inside and spectacular.

October 2021. Excellent Greco-Roman ruins site with a great museum. Nice choice by our guide - off the beaten tour bus route. Morning visit we had entire site to ourselves. Excellent adventure with much historical stuff. Worth the visit. Museum had spectacular marble sculpture exhibition.

What a magnificent and rich ancient city. Since the entrance, the sarcophagus collection has taken my breath away. I've never seen other ancient city as beautiful as Aphrodisias. It is easy to imagine the grandeur of the city in the past. Sebastianos is the most interesting spot and most sought (by me) as there is nothing like Sebastianos in other ancient city. The reliefs are kept in Aphrodisias Museum which is situated in the same location.

Minimum 2 hours to visit and I consider 2 hours is rush-visit. The location is not easy at all to reach by public transport therefore car rent is recommended.

This place is hard to get to - the road driving up is which windy up a hill - no guard rails… However, the site is very special. The museum has the highlights and is worth spending 30-45 minutes. The ruins are great - the temple gate has been re-constructed so that you can see it - the stadium is in very nice condition. A nice complement to Pamakkalle.

I was the only person there when I visited. There wasn't any staff there to sell you a ticket to enter the site or museum so I basically visited for free. There is a theater and museum to see and a large track. Some of the ruins have enough put together for you to get an idea of how it used to look. The rest didn't really have much to see. Overall the visit was pretty quick.
