We had a lovely time at the Husky Adventure. We went as a large group and all of us got into teams of 2 and then got given a sledge and 8 dogs and then were allowed to take turns in pushing the sledge. It was great fun and we were all pretty tired after it as you had to help the dogs at points in pushing the sledge. (Dont worry though if you aren't able to or fit enough, a member of staff can help out and do the work whilst you enjoy sitting in the sledge).
I would recommend the experience to all.
Great fun!

You are picked up , shown how to manage a sled , told about the huskys and introduced , help harness them and race away through the forest snow trails in full independent control but with safety fun and sufficient supervision an excellent staff team who adore their huskys , and engage with their clients so you each get the best you can from it . I went right out of my comfort zone and won't ever forget it and must do it again !!

We had our B and B which we've stayed at for 3 years recommend this place. It was a great time and worth every penny. Lucy was in charge and taught is how to ride. We then each grabbed dogs and helped them attach them to the sleds. Off we went. Up and down a few hills. Over a frozen pond, and stopping halfway to get warm and have cocoa. I'd say about 2-3 hours total. We purchased a cd full of photos of us in action as its very hard to take photos while your riding. Worth it. Do it. We'll be back next year!

We did this activity with a group of 16 people so that would mean about 8 dog sleds. First, you get a 10 minute course on how to ride the sled and guide the dogs. The hill that we took had quite a few hill drops and a few good turns. You have to run after sled as you go up a mountain to help the dogs but once you are at the top the dogs speed down the mountain, so beware the dogs are speeding away and you have to be on the break of the sled in order to keep the sled in place and in control. It's not as easy as it looks, technique and caution is definately a must. The dogs are great, friendly and it was a fantastic experience that I will remember for a long time. You are allowed to pet the dogs only after the sled ride. Its quite impressive and definately something to try.
