Wonderful experience. 3 hour float kayak down the Red River in Labelle. Water flows at about 3km per hour so the float is schedule for 4 hours along 12km route. We arrived at the end in just over 3 hours by paddling most of the way. We stopped at a small beach for a lunch we prepared at about the 6km point. It was a relaxing and beautiful trip. The owner/operators were very nice and helpful. They explained everything in English and French (English for us), and we would definitely go back and do it again.

My son and I have kayaked four times from the Kayak Cafe. They have a highly professional staff. And the River is a delight. If you want a leisurely experience, do 8 KM. If you want a workout, do 12 KM. Enjoy you trip! Beautiful scenery and an easy ride back to your car on their bus. Marion will answer all your questions.

Everything was perfect, right up to the last part of this trip. This was my second 12km trip down the Rivière Rouge with my sister in a double kayak. Like last year (2019) the booking was easy and the staff were excellent. This year, of course, COVID-19 changed things but the staff again were excellent: one person at a time at the check in desk, all clients needed to wear masks in their building, and staff kept their distance when they explained the route. The trip itself is beautiful and the kayaking is easy. It is truly an amazing experience. But at the 12km mark, everything goes a bit wrong. Under normal circumstances, the disembarkation point is crowded but during COVID-19, this is not appropriate. There were staff there to help but there weren't enough to direct traffic or keep up with the pace to ensure that people could keep apart. However, we were outside, so the risk was probably low. But then you have to get back to Kayak and Cabana to get back to your car. How do they do this? They pack you onto a full shuttle bus where there is zero social distancing. It is a small school bus and every single seat is full. Yes, all the windows were open, yes, everyone had a mask on, and yes, everyone had to disinfect their hands before getting on the bus. But we were seriously on top of each other. I would have thought that at least they could have run the shuttles at half capacity and run them more frequently. I get it that small businesses have been hit hard during COVID-19 and that they need to keep costs low but this was not appropriate. I would not have done this trip if I knew that the shuttle ride was waiting for me at the end. In the end, I should have called to verify the details but what a unpleasant surprise at the end of an amazing experience.

We hired three canoes (2 adults & 2 under 5s, 1 adult & 6yo and 1 adult & 10yo) and chose the 12km option over 4.5hrs. We had time for a couple of beach stops whilst travelling down the river, and arrived at the final beach with an hour to spare. The river is very gentle, but when the wind blows up the river it can be a little bit tricky to keep your canoe straight. Booking was easy, equipment good and briefing was clear. Staff were friendly and helpful.

the place looks great but upon booking they should say that the river has very low water level and you have to do more walking in the river then kayaking.
also should mention that a double kayak is not recommended due the heavyweight during the low level.

We rented 2 double kayaks for paddling down the Rivière du Diable near Labelle, PQ. Easy to reserve in advance. Reasonable prices. Basic beginning dry land lesson in kayaking (we were not novices) and off we went. Paddled down stream in calm water. Able to stop along the way on wide shore beaches and go for a dip or just relax and have a snack. Made it to the end meeting spot well ahead of time and were able to hop on one of their pick up buses right away. Quick return trip to the parking lot and Kayak Cafe. Great kayaking fun!

Great experience paddle boarding down the river. Beautiful beaches to stop and eat & sun bathe. The only down fall is when you take the 12 km path the exit is horribly indicated & the exit is hidden in the bushes. The only reason we saw it was because we saw people sticking out of the bushes & wondered what it was. The area to get off the paddle board had so much current - it's the only time I fell off of the paddle board. Weird place to have people come off the paddle boards & canoes. Other then that the experience was great! I would still recommend to everyone - with small children please be careful when getting off at the 12 km mark - very dangerous & if you don't get off on the left side you will keep going all the way down the river. So much current in that particular spot I lost my shoes & almost lost my backpack.. the rest of the river was fine! Other then that, great experience & beautifull place!!

we often rent canoes and kayaks to go down the Rouge River. Great experience and the ride back is included int the price. Superb beaches on both sides of the river you can use all along the river. We normally do the 12km ride and its a great activity to spend 4 hours on the river on a hot summer day. Highly recommended.
