First (and last) visit. £3 parking, on arrival we were advised by 3 staff members to take the guided tour to bring the most out of our visit and it started right away £5/person. Don't be misled: it is NOT a tour. It's a LECTURE....More

Interesting audio visual display at the visitor centre (you meet Sir Richard Arkwright). There is a cafe, toilets, gift shop and various other shops (antiques, quilting etc)

This is a really interesting attraction, the audio guide is very good and worth following even if it feels a little weird walking around a village, however the visitors centre doesn't open until 11 (or when they get round to it) rather than 09:00. The...More

Visited on holiday, impressive place. Went to the museum which for someone like me who's not hugely interested in Mills, this was very educational. Inside the museum is a short talk about the life of Sir Richard Arkwright which is worth it. Powered wheelchair user,...More

Knowing something of Sir Richard Arkwright Cromford Mills was on our list of places to visit on our 3 day trip to Derbyshire. However we were disappointed with our visit, the buildings from outside are magnificent, then you find access inside is limited. The Arkwright...More

Hi Martin, Sorry you were disappointed. There are interpretation panels dotted all around the site which do tell you all about the archaeological features on the site, and which are fully visible. We also have guided tours on a regular basis, audio tours, and our...More
