I'm a seasoned historical home visitor and I am simply amazed by the negatives reviews this little old place seems to have evoked from some quarters. Firstly moaning about the place was closed. It was on the day we went and whilst disappointed I really...More

Nice to enter and walk around old buildings like this, but to be fair its done in 1/2 hour or so. Be prepared to walk around with your hands in your pockets though as the National Trust have really gone overboard with their obligatory "Do...More

This is a lovely house that has been in the same family since being built immediately after the Plague in the late 1600's. At present on a lease to the National Trust but returning soon to family ownership. Everything in the house has been collected...More

While staying in Eyam we visited the hall as National Trust members and found it very interesting about the family who lived there. It's such a shame the National Trust will no longer be looking after the property in the New Year. Therefore would recommend...More

Great little place, not as big as your usual NT property but well worth a visit. Shame it’s going back to the family in January. All staff very informative and keen to tell you about the place. The cafe up the stairs sells the best...More

Unusually rented from the family owners by the National Trust, so different from other Trust properties. Some old toys, cut about tapestries and quaint contents. Small garden full of bird song. There isn't a lot in the craft barns and they are quite expensive.

The hall wasn't as interesting as other NT properties that I've been to. The craft centre was fairly good.

The Hall was good to look around, the guides were knowledgeable. The garden was very pretty. I enjoyed the craft centre and the NT 2nd hand book shop. We fond the cafe expensive and the food of low quality. There are better places in the...More

A lovely old hall to go around, great to see the old kitchens with old kitchen equipment and parlour. In the entrance hall it has a great display of old swords and hunting guns, so much to see, various old bedrooms, a great children's room...More

The house is lovely and very much enhanced by the informed, dedicated team of volunteer guides. Unfortunately, we were not told when we bought our 'last booking' ticket at 4pm that the house closed at 4.30pm. We hope this was an omission and not deliberate....More

Thanks for that. I knew they didn't talk about the plague, but they got criticised on Tripadvisor for not doing so, to which I replied. Many thanks for your interest - it does show that people actually read these things... More
